Her name is an homage, a nod to Richard Purcell Llewellin himself, and according to her partner, Tony Losco, a school principal near Junction City, Ohio, she is well on her way to doing The Old Man proud.  Here's what Tony had to say about his Parker X Dixie puppy from the 2018 litter:

"Purcy had her first official woodcock hunt yesterday.  By the end of the hunt, she was backing the older dog and holding her points.  On one point, we were pretty sure the old dog was backing her!  She is one heck of a pup!  She managed to impress my hunting buddy which is almost impossible to do."

It's worth noting that Purcy was all of five months, one week old, when this was written.

Tony came for a Blizzard's Huntmore puppy after spending time with one of the Parker X Dixie puppies from 2017.  He was looking for a setter just like her, one with athleticism, drive, tenacity, and intensity - plenty of natural hunt and the ability to cover ground.  Purcy is another bit of proof on the Parker X Dixie nick, producing puppies puppies that develop early, develop naturally, hunt for the gun with great application and enthusiasm, and "stand there when they get there" on game.

Congratulations, Tony and Purcy!  Best wishes for a long and happy partnership in the field and at home.
